Our Community facilitators talk about Connecting With Our Future 2022.

Connecting With Our Future 2022 will be overseen by Community Facilitators who will work with the community at the various stages of the project to encourage a democratic outcome for all. Sharon Moore and Jodie Mortadza are community and organisation development consultants who both live and work in the Wheatbelt region.

Sharon and Jodie are passionate community facilitators with extensive backgrounds and experience in strategic community and organisation development. They have worked in not-for-profit organisations, government bodies and private business.

Our future ..... help shape the Shire of Lake Grace into the next decade.

The Shire of Lake Grace Strategic Community Plan will shape future planning and along with your involvement and that of your colleagues, friends, family and neighbours it will outline the vision, key priority areas and broad strategies for the Shire community and shape strategic priorities into the next decade.

Your involvement in helping to create the Strategic Community Plan is one of the most important contributions you can make to your community. Your feedback is important!.

To keep you on your toes and up to date with locations around Lake Grace Shire, we will be asking you to identify the location of the places of specific photographs loaded every week.

To kick things off tell us the location of the image Photo 1 for your chance to win a lovely hamper of goodies.

The winner will be the person who has the most answers to each weekly photo correct. If more than one person has the most, all will be acknowledged and presented a special consolation prize with all winners going into the barrel to win the major prize!

Winners will be announced at the Community Action Forums scheduled to run in the first week of July 2012.

The decision will be final at the time of the draw. All entries are to be finalised by 26 June 2012.

The communities throughout the Shire of Lake Grace have a real opportunity to help shape the SCP in terms of where they see their communities and the Shire at least ten years from now.

The Shire, including your Councillors and myself, welcome your feedback, which is critical to the success of developing a long term community plan. Please take this opportunity to undertake the community engagement activities that Sharon and Jodie have planned as well as popping on to the Shire’s ‘Lake Views’ website.

Newdegate Rejuvenation Project

Shire residents would recently have received the latest Community Fact Sheet providing an update on the Newdegate Rejuvenation Project. The Fact Sheet provides information on the three stages of the project and tells you about the recently prepared Concept Plan and the opportuniy for you to comment via a survey

Comments regarding the Concept Plan, both positive and negative are welcomed and encouraged. Comments are due by 27 April 2012, either by post to the Shire at PO Box 50 Lake Grace WA 6353 or by email to shire@lakegrace.wa.gov.au .

The Fact Sheet, the Survey and the Concept Plan documents can all be viewed and downloaded from this website ... refer to the Library Section.

COMMUNITY MEETING

A meeting to bring the community up to date on the project will be held at the Newdegate CRC on Tuesday 24th April 2012 at 5.00pm.
